Frequetly Asked Question

What are the benefits of receiving a chemical peel treatment?

Chemical peel benefits include:
– Better tone and texture
– Increased collagen production
– Smoother skin texture
– Minimizing fine lines and wrinkles
– Brighter, more radiant complexion
– Improved appearance of superficial scarring

What should I expect at my chemical peel appointment?

Chemical peel treatments are fairly short. First, your Revive MD aesthetician will wash and prep your skin. Next, your aesthetician will apply a safe and effective chemical peel solution to the face. Once the chemical peel has been applied and absorbed into the skin, the treatment is over! In the following days or weeks, old skin cells will slough off. It is important to follow after-treatment protocol instructions provided by your aesthetician. Avoid the sun and do not “help” flaking skin peel.

What should I expect post-chemical peel?

It can take up to ten days for the damaged skin to peel. You will notice healthier, brighter skin underneath. However, prepare to be shedding and flaking skin for up to two weeks after your treatment. Do not peel the skin off yourself. The skin must peel on its own. Peeling the skin yourself may lead to scarring and other wounds. Gently pat your face dry. Refrain from massaging moisturizer or serum into the skin, pat dry instead. Finally, always follow the after-treatment protocol provided by your aesthetician.

Is a chemical peel painful?

Chemical peels are not painful but they can be uncomfortable. Your aesthetician will relieve discomfort with a fan or topical numbing cream. Some advanced chemical peels possess a numbing agent. Please communicate with your Revive MD aesthetician to help them effectively manage your comfort levels!

How often do I need a chemical peel treatment?

At your consultation, your Revive MD aesthetican can help you develop a treatment plan to achieve your aesthetic goals. The frequency of treatments depends on your specific concerns and goals.
